SpicyNodes.org is owned and operated by Institute for Dynamic Educational Advancement
(hereinafter referred to as “IDEA”). This Privacy Policy details our policies about collecting information and data regarding our users, including potentially personally indentifying information.

This Privacy Policy may be modified at any time without notice to you. Please review this document each time you visit us or use any of our tools or services.

It is our policy, except as noted below, not to sale, trade, lease, give away or otherwise release your personal information, which includes your name, physical address (business or home), home or business telephone number and your e-mail address.

Necessary Transactional Related Exchange of Personally Identifying Information and Other Information Regarding Your Privacy

User registration provides various tools and services at no cost to the registering member.

Users may choose to create SpicyNodes accounts in two ways:

  1. Users may register directly through SpicyNodes.org.
  2. Users may use the alternative Open-ID based registration process, using established Google, Yahoo and Open-ID accounts.

Google, Yahoo and Open-ID membership services do not provide us with any personally identifying information regarding these accounts.

SpicyNodes community memberships are free. Enterprise memberships provide more authoring control and support but require a fee to be paid.

With your SpicyNodes Enterprise membership, you support IDEA’s continuing research and development efforts to create innovative ways for people to interact with information online.

If a user should purchase a service from us, such as one of our Enterprise memberships, we will collect or facilitate the necessary information to process the sale of that product license and for proper registration of the product or service that has been purchased. We shall use such personally identifying information strictly to facilitate the business transaction using industry standard security and to register the product or service purchased. No security system is 100% foolproof and we are not responsible for security breaches that our outside of our control or responsibility. In the event that there may be a dispute regarding a billing issue regarding any product or service that we have sold, your personally identifying information may be used for collection or other reasonable purposes.

SpicyNodes purchases and subscriptions are facilitated by Amazon Dev Pay, which provides the following privacy policy and Terms of Use. Please review both documents prior to making a purchase or obtaining a subscription.

Our free and paid for services provides members with various tools that might inadvertently be used by members to reveal certain personally indentifying information or data. Any tool that allows users to enter text, as an example, could be used to state the user’s name, email address or other information, so we caution all users to refrain from entering or providing any personally indentifying information while they are using any of our online tools and services.

Additional Potential Exceptions to our Privacy Policy

Further possible exceptions to our policy include the following circumstances, and as indicated herein:

  • If a governmental agency, or an attorney, subpoenas your private information, or makes a formal request for discovery pursuant to any legal action, or pending legal action.
  • If our attorney requests such information relevant to a current or pending legal matter in which you are a potential or actual party or otherwise contributed in some way to the causation of the legal matter.

We do not release such information to third parties except as noted herein.

We may, from time to time, send you emails regarding our products or services that you may have purchased so that we can directly communicate with you regarding issues we determine to be relevant. We will not purposely allow third parties to email you for commercial reasons.
