Oftentimes, students become satisfied with a particular piece of writing and do not push themselves to further develop the idea, image, or emotion. This short activity pushes your students to add depth to what they perceive to be the most interesting aspects of their writing.

After writing your five favorite lines, write a continuation of each line. One continuation must be a question. One must be a command. One must be in the passive voice. One must rhyme.
