Many Eyes

Many Eyes is an IBM research project that seeks to smooth out user information exchange and pave the way for social data analysis. Its intent is to make it easy for Web users to create, edit, share, and discuss each other’s uploaded data. The data is presented in interactive visualizations that include traditional charts, treemaps, histograms, bubble charts, and network diagrams. Because Many Eyes’ dynamic visualizations are Java applets, some users feel that the application is limited. Although both Many Eyes and SpicyNodes play in virtual machines on the client side, the design and purpose of each is very different.
